WalkBuzz is a fitness rewards app for iPhone and Android. It reads the step count your phone already records, turns your steps into WB Coins, and lets you redeem those coins for rewards in the Reward Centre.

Yes. WalkBuzz is free to download and free to use. WB Coins cannot be bought, so there is nothing to pay for: every coin comes from walking and from what you do in the app, such as challenges, new levels and inviting friends.

WalkBuzz is for adults aged 18 and over. You need an iPhone running iOS 15 or later, or an Android phone running Android 11 or later.

On iPhone you can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a one-time code sent to your email address. On Android you can sign in with Google or with an email code.

With your permission, WalkBuzz reads the step count your phone already records: from Apple Health on iPhone, or from a supported step source such as Health Connect on Android. It reads steps only, and never writes anything back.

Not at present. WalkBuzz counts the steps your own phone recorded. Steps from a watch, a band or another external device, and steps entered by hand, are not counted.

No. Your phone keeps counting steps in the background whether WalkBuzz is open or not. Open the app to sync your steps, see your progress and collect your coins.

Yes. Your phone records steps without a connection, and WalkBuzz catches up the next time you open it online. Open the app online at least once a week so that every day is counted in full.

WalkBuzz counts the steps your phone recorded. If your health app also adds steps from a watch, a band or manual entries, its total will be higher. A day can also take a little while to catch up after you walk, while your phone finishes writing its readings.

WalkBuzz reads the steps your phone already records instead of tracking you with its own sensors or GPS, so it does not need to run all the time.

Every step up to your daily goal counts toward your coins, and 1,000 steps make 1 WB Coin. Your coins for each day appear on the Home screen for you to collect. Challenges, new levels and inviting friends can add more.

Steps count toward coins up to your daily goal, which you choose anywhere from 1,000 to 25,000 steps. Steps beyond your goal still show in your reports, and they count toward your level up to 25,000 steps a day.

Power is a battery that charges each day you meet your goal and drains each day you miss it. Start a day with a full battery and meet your goal, and that day’s walking coins are doubled.

Collect them within 15 days of first seeing them in the app; if you never open the app to see a day’s coins, they expire after 90 days. Coins you have collected stay in your balance while you keep using WalkBuzz; after 12 months with no activity, they may expire.

No. WB Coins are virtual in-app reward points. They have no cash value, cannot be bought, sold or transferred to anyone else, and cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for money. Read more about WB Coins.

They stay with your account. Sign in on your new phone with the same account and your coins, streak, level and history are all there. WalkBuzz runs on one phone at a time, so signing in on a new phone signs you out of the old one.

Rewards stocked in the Reward Centre for your country, such as digital vouchers and, where they are stocked, physical products. The catalogue changes as rewards are added, sell out or retire. At launch it is stocked for India.

Open the Reward Centre, choose a reward and confirm. You can follow the request in My Rewards. Each request is checked before it is fulfilled, so a reward can take a little while to arrive. A request that does not pass the check is not fulfilled, and its coins are returned. A digital code appears in My Rewards and is also sent to your email.

Rewards appear once they are stocked for a country, and at launch the Reward Centre is stocked for India. Everything else works wherever you are: you can walk, collect coins, build streaks and join challenges.

Each challenge sets a step target and a time window, and most carry a fixed reward in WB Coins, shown on the challenge. Join it, walk the target within the window and, once your steps are confirmed, you receive that reward. There is no draw, no ranking and no luck involved.

Some challenges are free to join. Others have an entry fee in WB Coins, shown on the challenge before you join. Joining a challenge never costs money.

Only your step count, with your permission, together with the times those steps were recorded and which app or device recorded them. WalkBuzz does not read heart rate, sleep, workouts or location. The app also collects the device and technical details the Privacy Policy lists, such as your phone model, operating system and app version.

No. WalkBuzz does not sell your personal information, and your health data is never shared with advertisers or used to target ads. The app contains no advertising SDK. Read the Privacy Policy.

No. No feature shows your steps to another walker, and there is no public leaderboard or profile anyone can browse. Community figures in the app are anonymous totals.
