How it works
How WalkBuzz works
WalkBuzz rewards the walking you already do. Here is the whole loop, from the first permission to your first reward, with nothing left out.
- Stage 1
Your phone counts your steps
When you first open WalkBuzz, it asks for permission to read your step count: from Apple Health on iPhone, or from a supported step source such as Health Connect on Android. Your phone keeps counting in the background, and WalkBuzz reads the total whenever you open it.
It reads steps only, never writes anything back, and counts the steps your own phone recorded. Steps from a watch, a band or manual entries are not counted at present.
- Step count only: no heart rate, sleep, workouts or location
- Works offline: open the app with a connection at least once a week so every day counts
- Withdraw access any time in your phone’s settings

- Stage 2
You choose a daily goal
Your goal is your own number, anywhere from 1,000 to 25,000 steps in steps of 500. New walkers start at 5,000. Change it whenever you like: the new goal starts tomorrow, so today is always judged against the goal it began with.
- From 1,000 to 25,000 steps a day
- Every goal is open to everyone from day one
- Stage 3
Steps become WB Coins
Every 1,000 steps up to your goal make 1 WB Coin, counted to the step. Steps past your goal do not add coins on their own, but they still show in your reports, and they count toward your level up to 25,000 steps a day.
Your coins for each day appear on the Home screen, ready to collect. Collect them within 15 days of first seeing them.
- 1,000 steps = 1 WB Coin
- Up to your daily goal
- Collect within 15 days of first seeing them
- Stage 4
Power rewards showing up
Power is a battery. Each day you meet your goal charges it, and each day you miss drains it. Start a day with a full battery and meet your goal, and that day’s walking coins are doubled.
- Charges when you meet your goal
- Drains when you miss it
- Full battery plus goal met: double walking coins
- Stage 5
Streaks and levels keep score
Your streak counts the days in a row you meet your goal. If life gets in the way, you can save a streak of three days or more with WB Coins on the day after a missed day, up to two days in a row.
Levels follow every step you walk, up to 25,000 a day. There are 25 of them, each new level comes with a one-time coin bonus, and a level once reached is never taken away.

- Stage 6
Challenges add a clear target
In Buzz Zone you can join challenges. Each one shows a step target, a time window and any reward before you join, and some have an entry fee in WB Coins. Walk the target within the window and, once your steps are confirmed, you receive the reward it shows. There is no draw, no ranking and no luck involved.

- Stage 7
Coins become rewards
Open the Reward Centre to see the rewards stocked for your country, choose one and confirm. Each request is checked before it is fulfilled. Digital codes appear in My Rewards and are also sent to your email; physical products, where they are stocked, are sent to an address you save.
At launch the Reward Centre is stocked for India. How rewards work

Fair for every walker
WalkBuzz rewards real walking. Steps and redemptions are checked for misuse, and the Terms and Conditions explain what happens when something does not add up. WalkBuzz is a fitness-motivation tool, not a medical device, and it does not give medical advice.
Be there on day one
